Washington, D.C. Convention Center
In August of 2002 Chesapeake was awarded the electrical sub-contract from Cherry Hill Construction (www.cherryhillconstruction.com) for work associated with the streetscape project at the new Washington, D.C. Convention Center. The scope of work for this project included the complete rehabilitation of six (6) intersections that encircled the new building. Seventy-seven (77) new street light poles and fixtures were installed, as well as over forty thousand (40,000) linear feet of conduit, thirty (30) new manholes and all the necessary wiring to feed the new traffic signals and street lights.
Chesapeake worked a very tight schedule to complete all work on time for the April 2003 Grand Opening.
