Dulles International Airport - 4th Runway

Chesapeake Electrical Systems, Inc. was the electrical sub-contractor for the construction of the 4th runway and associated taxiways at Dulles International Airport during the 2006-2008 construction period for the project. CES teamed with the Lane Construction Corporation, CES’ contract consisted of installing over 2300 airfield lighting fixtures and guidance signs and approximately 54,000 linear feet of underground duct bank system, including over 250 associated electrical manholes and handholes. Chesapeake was also responsible for the electrical installation of the new airfield electrical vault. This vault, equipped with a state of the art emergency generator, feeds the new runway lighting system.
