Chesapeake Electrical Systems, Inc. was awarded the electrical sub-contract for the construction of the 4th runway and associated taxiways at Washington Dulles International Airport. Once again teaming with the Lane Construction Corporation (www.laneconstruct.com) Chesapeake’s contract consists of installing over 2300 airfield lighting fixtures and guidance signs, approximately 54,000 linear feet of underground duct bank system, including over 250 associated electrical manholes and handholes. Chesapeake is also responsible for the electrical installation of the new airfield electrical vault and the future relocation of one of the existing electrical vaults. These vaults, equipped with emergency generator systems will feed the new runway lighting system.

The project was started in July of 2006 and has a thirty (30) month completion schedule.


Plaza East, Western Fairfax County, Va

Plaza East is the latest project in the Westfields Corporate Center in Western Fairfax County, Virginia. In January 2006, Chesapeake Electrical Systems, Inc. was awarded the electrical sub-contract from general contractor James G. Davis Construction Corporation (www.davisconstruction.com). Located just five miles south of Washington’s Dulles International Airport, this office complex boasts open column free interiors and park-like settings, complete with tree lined walkways and jogging paths. The estimated completion date is Mid-2007.
